Dorothy A. Atabong is an award winning actress and filmmaker whose credits include One Night, and the Theatre Awakening production of In Darfur at Theatre Passe Murialle for SummerWorks 2008 for which she won the Emerging Artist Award.

Other roles include Mattie Campbell in August Wilson's award winning play Joe Turner's Come and Gone, production at the Theatre in the Park in New York.

Dorothy led a cast of eleven, in the role of Julia in acclaimed play Wedding Band by Alice Childress. A play set in the South in 1918 about an educated black woman forbidden by law from marrying her long-time white lover - performed at Equity Theatre Toronto.

TV appearances include the award winning television series Mayday, Ocean Landing, for the Discovery Channel; and The Line for TMN . She played Manon in the U.S. premiere of the award winning play Angelique, produced by the Detroit Repertory Theatre.

She co-wrote, co-produced, was 1st AD and played the supporting role of Amanda in Dreamt, filmed in Toronto.

Her production Company Palm N Lotus Productions is currently in pre-production for the film, Sound of Tears - A case of honor killing, a script she wrote and will produce and co-direct. Please visit the Palm N Lotus Productions page for more info.
